Pitzer's Diversity Weekend 2015

I applied to Pitzer’s Diversity Program as Pitzer is my first choice right now but I want to see the school in person before applying early decision. Is anyone else applying for the program? Has anyone gone to it in past years?

I’ll be applying for this year. I actually just found out about this so I’m still working on my essays, lol. Apart of me feels like Pitzer could be my second choice, but the acceptance rate scares me, so I don’t want to get my hopes up. Btw are you scheduling an interview during the program too?

Do you guys know how many people they are accepting for the program ?

I scheduled an interview because I think it’ll increase my chances of getting accepted. From what I’ve read online, the interview is really casual and laid back. As long as you don’t do or say something completely outrageous, it should only help you. Pitzer’s acceptance rate is really low but a part of that is because there aren’t many liberal arts schools on the west coast so there aren’t as many LACs that kids from California can apply to if they want to stay close to home.

I think I read somewhere that it’s around 40 but I could be wrong. I know that each class at Pitzer is around 250 students and only a small number of them are going to be a part of the Diversity Weekend.

Yeah, I think 40 sounds about right, judging based on their videos from last years program, it has to be at least 30 kids.

when will they start sending acceptances and rejections btw

I applied too! I think I read somewhere by/on/starting September 18th…?

I hope there is not much competition this year lol

Anyone else get email notifications? I got mine a couple minutes ago  I got accepted. Yay!

Yay I got accepted too @laliaM

I got accepted too! Got my mail today, also

@Marrsnation and @laliaM, where are you guys coming from?

@SeattleChick NJ. I’m assuming your from washington right?

I’m coming from Ga @SeattleChick

I was rejected but hopefully I still have a chance at getting in ED. =(

@laliaM yup, Washington!
@AnneKatherine Sorry to hear that :frowning: they told me this they they had the greatest number of applicants ever, so it was very selective, so don’t worry about admittance to the school. Best of luck!

Does anyone know why we need sleeping bags for the trip? I thoight we were going to stay in dorms…?

We are but there may not be enough beds @laliaM
