If its any consolation..here...if it werent for EMS, my letter would have arrived after my funeral..

"So I got home today and opened the mailbox.

No big envelope inside for me, I gasped.

I had prepared myself for this all week and the entire ride home I told myself that I'd be fine if I didn't get in...it didn't mean anything.

It still hurt not to see a big envelope stuffed in my mailbox.

Then I thumbed through the mail and realized nothing from MIT had come."

The exact same thing happened to me.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday and today!

God, I wish they would just e-mail it to us.

no package yet. i'll be joining you guys!

Same here!! I hate waiting.

Just give me my damn rejection letter.

i'm hoping for a waitlist. just to reassure myself that i'm still wanted...:)

Seriously. I didn't think Newfoundland was that obscure.

Neither did I think so about Patna, India.

Hell, if Indian envelopes are coming through EMS too then im damn sure i didnt get in - I know the EMS guy in the area and he gets my mail pronto (usually atleast).
Yes, i did give up hope this evening but i have had a few inspiring conversations

STILL nothing, anybody else yet to get it? when when can we call if this keeps up?

I think the 18th

Haven't got my (rejection) letter. Seems it is the case with all of us rejectees (and waitlist-ees if some of us r lucky(??) ..) in Asia ...

btw ... the MyMIT main page hasn't as well changed ... Anyone knows if it changes for waitlisted ppl?

Ben says on his blog, "Looks like MyMIT changed for admitted students as of midnight (EST) on the 18th. Waitlisted and rejected applicants won't see any difference."

thanks mootmom. didn't know abt the blog b4.

hey guys.. dont get worried.. i live in India and havent yet got my package.. however i did call up and found out that i got in... it is not the end!! there is still a chance... so i say, pick up the phone and CALL!!

i didn't have a MyMIT before, how does it change?

My son is American, we live overseas, but have a US pouch mailing address...so he hasn't received anything yet(mail takes 2 weeks to reach us), and is clueless about the MyMIT change situation...and likely to stay that way. He is gearing up for his mock IB/AP exams next week, and needs to stay focused. He leaves the CC to me!

For those of you who haven't heard, and are waiting at the edge of your seats, my sympathies. I think the idea of finding out whether or not you get in based upon whether or not your MyMIT has changed is a bit harsh, given the effort and emotion that has gone into your applications. As Benjones said, they need to do it to give kids time to get organized for CPW. This is understandable but I still say that if it is okay to let kids find out by looking at whether or not their MyMIT has changed, it should be okay to send out emails as well...or to have some other true on-line notification system...Just one person's opinion!
