<p>Son wants to live off campus next year as a sophomore. He will need a bed. Is there a place in Blacksburg/Christiansburg that has good deals on mattresses/bed frames? Will probably just want to buy one when we take him back to school in August rather than have to rent a van or something to transport that kind of stuff from home.</p>
<p>There are plenty of places to buy mattresses like Mattress Depot, etc. but consider going to a Big Lots. We were pretty impressed by the
guest room mattress set we bought and it was a queen set at less than $300 last fall.</p>
<p>Thanks for replying, tnalflncva! According to the Big Lots website, closest store to Blacksburg is in Salem (which would be too far away). When we went through this with other son at UVa, we were able to find a place near campus that we could just walk into that had a cheap mattress and rails. That is really what I’m looking for . A local place that will be geared up for an influx of students in August , where we can get in and out fairly quickly with what we need at a good price. Anybody else have any suggestions or ideas,personal experience with this ? Any places like that in Blacksburg?</p>
