I'm going to UNC this week and what are some great places to visit?
I did register for the tour but I'm not sure where exactly tour goes ...so help me

Are your parents going with you? Will you have access to a car?

I have the same question. I’ll be in Chapel Hill for four days, with Discover Carolina on Friday. My mom will be with me and we have a rental car.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I’m going to walk :)

Here is a pretty good link to a thread about places to go to eat.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/677891-where-eat.html

Other than that, I can’t really think of anything you may want to do that you will not see on the tour.

To get a feel for the campus, go to the Pit on a weekday, and just sit there between 11-1. Watch what goes on and enjoy.

Other than that, walk up and down Franklin Street. Try to get into some of the dorms on different areas of campus if you can too. I don’t really know what there is to go see around Raleigh and Chapel Hill. I haven’t been off campus too much.

If you’re into Carolina basketball, visit the museum down by the Dean Dome. Very impressive. Eat breakfast at the counter at Ye Old Waffle Shop on Franklin Street.

Oh, visit a class in a subject that you might be interested in. Most professors don’t mind you sitting in on a class if you let them know ahead of time. I think the admissions office has a list of classes you can visit.

The tour brings you all around North campus - you won’t see south.

Try and get into Kenan, McIver, or Alderman to look at the rooms. Those are the best dorms.

If you want to sample the cafeteria food eat at Lenoir.

AND DO HANG OUT IN THE PIT! Hopefully it’ll be a sunny day.

Walk down Franklin and go all down into Carrboro. Go to Weaver St. Market.

Just another thought for something to do tonight in town, go to Franklin Street after the game. It is awesome to be on Franklin after a big victory. Hopefully there will be a nice one tonight and a massive one Monday night.

I don’t know what type of studies you’re interested in or anything, but if you want to sit in on one of my classes feel free to just send me a PM and we can work something out. :)

Im on spring break and I thought i’d have my schedule tied but it freed up out of the blue and now i really want to visit carolina but its saying all the tour dates are filled. I was wondering if it was possible to just ease onto a tour if i go try and register at the visitor’s center on the day of. I live in Florida though, so i can’t just “test” my theory lol
