Placement Exam Question

Are we allowed to bring in a one-page formula sheet for the Chem 101/102 and Math 104/114/240 Placement Exams?

In addition, I know that we are allowed to bring in a non-graphing calculator for Chem, but how about for Math?

Thanks

The conditions are like a final in the course so no calculator for math, we have never been allowed to use one on any math test I have taken at Penn (I took 114 and 240). You can bring a formula sheet though because we were allowed to do that. On the chem 101 placement exam, you can bring a non-programmable calculator but no note sheet (at least that’s how it was last year when I took it).

is there an advantage to taking Chem 101 even if place out of on placement exam

well if you pass the placement test, you get credit for that class- just as if you took it at Penn. Thus- you’re advisers will not want you to take the same class “again” at Penn - though I am unsure if they can actually stop you.
As for an advantage- I see none. Maybe to get an easy A? But if that’s the case there are certainly easier classes.
