I recently read that the biology placement test is for diagnostics only. Is this true?
Also, I took Calculus AB in high school. Should I try to get into Honors Calc? I enjoy math (especially Calc), but I'm not majoring in it. Would it be too difficult for me if I haven't taken Calc BC?
Thanks for the help!

Results of the biology placement exam will be discussed with your adviser during Orientation Week; the results, plus any AP scores you may have achieved, will help the adviser suggest an appropriate biology course for you given your placement and your future plans.

Although this is completely up to you, I would discourage any student from shooting for honors-level calculus if you are not interested in majoring in mathematics (or a math-heavy major like statistics, computer science, physics, or chemistry). ‘Honors’ courses at UChicago are very different from high school level honors coursework-- they do not imply that other courses are at a standard or below-standard level, rather, are for students who have exceptional knowledge in the field and are planning on (or are considering) majoring in that field. A student who is not interested in majoring in mathematics will find the Calc 150s sequence to be plenty rigorous, and you will be well prepared to enter that course with successful placement on the calculus exam as well as completion of Calculus AP A/B.
