Does anyone know when we have to take the placement exams? I need to take the physics and calculus placement exams. I'm taking AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC, however since the AP scores don't come out until mid-July, I would take the placement exams just in case.

@TwinsFishy:
If you’re a bio/chemistry major, it is mandatory to take the chemistry sequence no matter what score you received on the AP test. However taking a chemistry placement test is unnecessary to get into the series. But, if you feel like you are a little weak in the subject you can take an pre-chemistry course before the series.

I’m not entirely sure about AP scores on the physics exams. But in order to take Physics 7C, you must either pass the online Physics test with I believe a 75% or higher or if you don’t pass you must enroll in Physics 2 (Intro to Physics) in the fall.

How do you find out what placement exams you have to take? And… I tried calculating my transferable AP credit and it comes out to 56 credits/units (assuming I pass all of them this year)? Is that … right? Here are the APs I’m taking/have taken:

Physics B AP (2010)
English 4 Literature AP (2010)
American Government AP (2010)
Microeconomics AP (2010)
Statistics AP (2010)
French 4 Lang AP (3)
US History AP (5)
Euro History AP (5)
Environmental Science AP (3)

If I do start with 56 creds/units… how does that benefit me?

and the units boost is good because you will come in as a sophomore and you will have an earlier enrollment window (well besides for fall qtr, that is dependent upon your spop date). you really want the earliest window you can have because certain classes will fill up fast.

Thanks! I think I just need to take the Calculus test.

Also, how do you know if you were accepted into the Honors Program? And… if you are part of the Honors Prog, are you automatically in the Honors Econ major? Or is that separate? I have wayyyy too many questions, haha
