Do incoming first years in the College of Arts & Sciences need to take any placement exams beyond languages? Thanks.

unless you’re submitting a writing portfolio to exempt out of enwr then i do not think so. all of the sat ii’s work well for placement also…

Hi!

I took the Spanish placement exam and received a score of 655 points. It says that if I score above 536 points, then I must see the advisor.

Does this mean I am placed out? Or do I have to take the most advanced level available???

Also, how many points are there out of in the placement exam?

Thanks!

if anyone can answer my question, that would be great!

thanks!!

This is specifically for spanish…I’m not sure if it’s the same for other languages, but:

The Foreign Language Requirement is fulfilled by any of the following:
536+ on the U.Va. placement test
650+ on the SAT II Subject Test
4 or 5 on the AP test
