placement in grad school?

Hey everyone, I’ve recently committed to Dartmouth but still want to know more about the school. Does anyone know how’s Dartmouth’s placement into top science grad schools? I can’t find specific details on their graduation placement pamphlet:( Thanks!

According to the Wall Street Journal list of the top 50 feeder programs, Dartmouth is #7 for most prestigious grad program placement rates (ahead of MIT, Columbia, Penn, Brown, and UChicago).

@Oberyn Thank you! But the ranking is for med, law and business school, and I want to know more about its placement in pure science grad schools:) (i.e. com sci, physics…)

You might asking your question here: http://thegradcafe.com/

Do we know which year is this reflected? I remember seeing similar file and ranking four years ago. Thanks

That WSJ list is pretty old, I think 2001 or so, but still somewhat valid for Med, Law and business schools. All science grad programs take into account the competitive nature of the undergraduate program you come from when it looks at your GRE and GPA. From this list you can tell that the top Med/Law/Business schools value a Dartmouth degree and that should also hold true in the sciences. However, for the pure science graduate programs, certainly a good GPA from MIT, Cal Tech, top State universities with significant research projects and internships would also serve you well. If you are accepted and attend Dartmouth, you will certainly get into a top graduate program in any field.

@“Magnum PI” Thank you!

As I posted on another thread, Dartmouth got my daughter into all seven grad schools (in Biostatistics) to which she appled. She picked UC Berkeley.

@Scipio Wow Great! Congrats to your daughter!
