Hey everyone. I wanted to know what these placement test results mean:

Trig: 14/15
Spanish: 919

I know that cases need to evaluated on an individual basis to know where you finally will be placed, but keeping in mind that I took Calc BC this year and AP Spanish Literature (five years of language classes, including a 5 on the Spanish Lang test), I would like to know roughly where I stand. I am assuming Trig is fine, but for the Spanish test, I have no idea what the score means.

Call or email the Spanish department. I think it is up to the specific language departments to decide what credit they will give for what score. Also, some ask you to take their own placement test to help with proper class selection.

Two years ago my daughter took the French exam. I have no idea what the score was but she did quite well. Tucked somewhere was the note that she should call the department. Unfortunately we missed that. When she got to Pitt Start and her advising session her advisor shared that. It took a bit more discussion to decide what French class she should register for. For lower scores I believe there was a pretty cut and dry chart with scores and corresponding classes.
