Has anyone taken the placement tests yet? If so, how was it? Was it hard...easy? I am taking mine this Saturday and wanted to know what and how much to study for it. I looked at the sample questions online and in the packet, and so far, I have only looked at the math portion - it is very easy. Is the actualy math placement test similar to the sample questions? Please help.. I don't want to have to re-read an entire pre-cal book for no reason. Is the math portion of the placement test basically the same as the sample questions, except with more and different problems?

P.S. I know basics about logs and graphs, and know more about exponents and sin, cos, and tan - Will this be enough? Will I need to know all of the different rules/laws of logs? Will I need to know to graph really advanced stuff?

You cannot use a calculator, so don't expect to use difficult math. I've yet to take it, but students at my school have and they all said it's remarkably easy except for the language test--they all took the Spanish one. I was also told it's just an easy twenty minute essay.

thanks for the reply. yea i figured it would be easy, but did not know what college level "easy" meant. does anyone else have anything to add? has anyone on this forum taken the placement test already? could you please answer my questions above? thanks

listen jocelynx, i have seen a few of your posts and all you can do is whine and tell people to shut up. if you don't have an answer, then why are you responding?! god, nobody tells you to shut up with your retarded questions. just because you have no friends and hate your life, don't take your bs out on everyone else. no one is stopping you from commiting suicide so i seriously think you should think about it..

thanks for the reply. i just don't want to be placed in lower/remedial no credit courses for stupid things as not memorizing a few formulas and rules.

Even though i agree with joce on this one.....BUUURRRNNNN!!!

Seriously AbN, I just WISH I could be as cool as you. I wish I could be one of those superior kids that likes to tell people to kill themselves on College Confidential. You think I should be taking notes on how to up my coolness factor to that of your caliber? You're the one that must not have any friends if you have time to ponder whether or not you should reread your entire Precalc book. Let's be serious. Do me a favor, stop being obsessive compulsive about college, shut the hell up, and stop wasting people's goddamn time.

Please joce, don't answer if you don't have an answer. Why are you making it hard on yourself? I am sure your parents are paying quite a bit of cash to send you to your anger management therapy, and you are letting it all go down the drain by posting in threads that don't even apply to you. I still don't see how I am wasting ANYONES time by posting. You are wasting your own time by clicking on my thread and reading it. Just don't do it if it bothers you that much and if you don't know how to control your issues.

Oh and btw, the question about reading the entire pre-calc book was an exxageration. Come on seriously, if you can't pick up on this, what will you do in college?

It was just a question. That is the point of College Confidential, it's to help people who have questions. AbN I admire and respect you for worrying about the tests, it shows that you are really thinking about your future unlike many peers I know. Good luck but also don't sweat it.

wow, all this started because i thought you were a little preoccupied with the placement tests. You're the one that flipped out because I told you to shut up. Why don't you go ****ing cry about it? You're the one with issues if you can't handle a "shut up" from a complete stranger.

thank you stargirl and lastpicked for backing me up, i appreciate it. i dunno what jocelynx's problem is. he doesnt seem to understand the concept of not responding when you don't know the answer. but whatever, im sorry jocelynx if imade u upset or whatever..

so has anyone taken the placement tests yet? If so, how was it? Was it hard...easy? I am taking mine tomorrow and wanted to know what and how much to study for it. Will i have to know all of the different rules for logs? Will I have to memorize the the unit circle?

LMFAO...

Seriously though, somebody please help, my test is tomorrow morning.
