and if you’re talking about stern specifically, yes there is a statistics placement test. I took it last summer and passed, placed out of 4 of the 6 credit requirement.</p>

<p>no, the placement test isn’t only for freshmen, it’s for anyone who wants to place into the class. placement tests are offered several times during the year - math placement exams are usually offered once a semester. </p>
<p>Statistics is offered in several NYU schools and departments. If you’re in Stern, you take the Stern placement exam. Bio majors would place into Biostatistics, Psych majors into Statistics for Behavior Sciences, Math majors have their own statistics classes, etc. There’s many different stats classes for different departments. A 4 or 5 on AP Stats will also get you placed out of several intro stats courses so you can take the a Calc-based Stats class if needed for your major.</p>
