So I'm an incoming SEBS student at Rutgers NB and I just got my testing results back. For English I got put into Expository Writing, so i'm wondering is that the basic English course? And for math I got put into Intermediate Math and I'm wondering if thats the lowest math course. Also I was wondering if I can take it over the summer at my local community college so I can at least be in Pre-Calc for the fall.

Those are exactly the same courses I was placed into. Expository Writing is the highest/most advanced writing class you can get into at Rutgers, so it’s pretty much English 101. Elementary Math is the lowest math course. Calculus 1 is the most advanced math course Rutgers has to offer. I hope that answers part of your question.

I’m taking some summer classes too for some of my core requirements like sociology and philosophy. Rutgers doesn’t accept transfer credit for math if you are taking the classes online or if you’re doing a hybrid version of it, but I’m pretty sure Rutgers would be able to accept the community college credit for the fall if you print, fill out, and mail the preapproval form on the link below. Email the admissions office to be sure.
