<p>The one thing I will point out is that it looks like they do not test for Chinese at Summer Orientation, but only in late August. It may be that due to this policy, all of the freshman taking the required Chinese placement test will be placed in their appropriate classes after that test is administered. It looks like this is true for many of the other “regularly scheduled” languages, some testing being more regular than others.
