Placement Tests

Can someone elaborate on the yellow sheet that came with the letter of adminssion? It talks about taking placement tests to register for appropriate courses. It says College of Arts and Science require the SAT II in writing and math. I haven't yet. Does this mean I have to take these tests before I attend Vandy?

Yeah I believe you have to take both tests before you can start classes, but according to the yellow sheet, you can take them on campus during summer or fall orientation.

GAH, does this mean I have to study for SAT II? I thought I was done with them...

the sat 2's are more subject based than the sat 1; as long as you some memory of algebra 2, trig, and pre-calc, then you'll be fine on the sat 2 math. the sat 2 writing is really easy.

If you talk to the department head of that subject, you may get out of taking the test. I thought I had to take the Spanish placement test, but then I talked to my advisor, who was the head back then, and he said "oh you don't need to take it, let's just skip those 2 classes and put you in upper level". That really helped relieve alot of anxiety.

What about Engineering??
Is there any placement tests?
I wish not b/c I really sucked at SAT2 writing (im recent immigrant thats why) but had very decent scores in both SAT2 math and chemistry
