Anyone know how it works for out of state people? Do we take it during our A&O session? Can we still sign up for our desired calculus math class if we take the test during A&O? I don't want to get screwed out of any classes because I'm out of state and have to take the test at A and O and get shafted to schedule my classes last.

I really need to get into Math 124 which I guess requires the placement test cause I have no AP credit or anything. I'm taking precalculus 2 right now and I'll probably be finishing the year with a high B in PreCalc2 this semester and an A in PreCalc1 last semester. I'd consider myself good at math, but not amazing or anything.

Should I worry about the placement test or should I be fine? Is it one of those tests where if you did the pre-calculus course, you should be able to pass the placement exam easily or do I actually have to study?

You can take it during your A&O session. It's not recommended, but you can do it. Go sooner rather than later though so you can sign up for a math class then. Theoretically speaking, you should be able to pass it without studying. There's some guide out there. Let me see if I can find it.

Haha I took it a few questions, a lot of the stuff I remember learning, but its kind of hazy to me especialyl some equations lol, anyone in the same boat? Should I be worried about retaking pre-calculus as it would likely set me back a year or two lol

I am wondering if UW offers other subject placement tests besides math and language such as physics and chemistry

These websites may be helpful. Does not appear there is a physics placement exam. Honors chemistry only for science.
