In what classes does UF require placement tests? Most schools now seem to require them. When are they offered?

depends on the major.

I know engineers have to take the calc and chem placement for the most part

gpowsang

Chemistry and Calculus are the main ones I’ve seen.

When do students take the calculus readiness exam?

they should be completed with preview prep, however they will give you time to do it at preview if needed (i do not recommend this unless you want to take it when you’re incredibly tired from preview at 9pm)

Go onto ISIS, look up the readiness exams (fairly easy to find). The tests are jokes.

If you passed the AP Chemistry and AP Calculus tests do you still have to take them? I think I saw somewhere that you didn’t have to take the chemistry one if so, but I haven’t seen anything about calculus.

you dont have to but its very strongly advised. they are very adament about you taking classes you’re prepared for, and if you aren’t solid on it they dont want your gpa to suffer.

granted, if you got a 5 on calc BC, you probably dont need to take the calc readiness exam.

the tests themselves aren’t that big of a deal. neither test factored into my schedule because i’m not taking a math or chem. check your course study guide thing that lists your recommended/required courses. if you need calc or chem in the fall, you pretty much must take this test. otherwise, your advisor wont really be concerned with it.
