Places to eat after college tour!

So I will be visiting the college soon, and the day we get there is also my mom's birthday. She has given me the task of finding a good restaurant to eat at for her birthday, and I honestly cannot pick. I look one place and there is a list of 10 places. Then I look somewhere else and theres another list, but none overlap. Any suggestions near the area for a really good restaurant? The type of cuisine doesn't matter, it just has to be good, and around the level of a Longhorns or an Apple Bees.

If anyone could help me out, I would be extremely thankful!

I’ve never eaten at Longhorns or Applebees so I wouldn’t be able to compare, but your best bet is probably going to be outside of the immediate area around campus, perhaps in Santa Monica, Sawtelle (for Japanese food), or Westwood south of Wilshire (Middle Eastern food). Don’t know how much you’re willing to spend, however if no limits Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills seems pretty good (haven’t been myself), you may need to make a reservation.

And definitely visit Diddy Riese for great cookies or design-your-own ice cream sandwiches; just be prepared to stand in line!
