Places to eat in Gainesville

We will be up for Preview in June then again for the move-in in August. Any suggestions on great places to eat? It would be greatly appreciated!

I know I saw a thread on this before but just couldn't find it :(

Satchels pizza is great, though it can be a bit hard to find if you don’t know the area. Best places close to campus are Relish and Chipotle if you’re looking for fast food. Relish has the best burgers in town imo.

On campus there are 2 buffet dining halls, 2 Subways, 2 Burger Kings, Moes, Panda Express, Chic Fil A, and some more that’s I’m blanking on right now.

Out by the mall is BJ’s (great menu and bar–reasonably priced) which is my favorite spot and Napolitano’s (great Italian).

The Swamp Restaurant is across University Avenue, one block from nothern campus boarder. Very nice sports bar with indoor and outside seating. There are 2 or 3 other restaurants directly behind the Swamp, can’t recall the names that are really nice too.

Sorry meant to include this [The Swamp Restaurant in Gainesville, FL | #1 College Sports Bar](http://swamprestaurant.com/)

Our fav is The Top—a great restaurant with a fabulous menu and a very kitschy interior–think 50’s/60’s very funky lamps, velvet wall art, etc. Great bar area. Prepare for a short wait, but not probably in the summer…think burgers, pasta, salads, ecclectic, really good. Also, second Satchel’s although they were closed for a kitchen fire/remodeling a few months ago, Chinese—like Chopsticks, also Leonardo’s behind the kangaroo gas next to campus–walk from campus and great pizza by the slice and healthy salads…fantabulous homemade garlic knots and sauce  My D is a foodie…

oh…the Top is downtown Gainesville, not campus town…The top also has a nice outdoor patio :)

Lot’s of great restaurants are downtown. I would recommend The Top, Harry’s, Dragonfly, Stubbies and Steins, The Gelato Company, Harvest Thyme(lunch), and many more. Check out yelp or urban spoon for review.

Second for Chopstix, it’s great for pan-asian food, they are a few miles south of the main campus area though.

Definitely The Top. Whoever said Relish has the best burgers in town is off their rocker (just my opinion) because The Top beats them by miles, even though Relish is amazing and a quite delicious second. However, the wait is ridiculous sometimes but I assure you it’s worth it. Dragonfly is also really good if you like Japanese.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! :)

If you like sushi then Bento Cafe and Sushi Chao are both great. Satchel’s and Leonardo’s both have great pizza. And Willy’s has good Mexican

There’s also a cupcake bakery near the Hippodrome that’s great and Burrito Bros which is right across from campus!
