Places to eat

I don't think anybody's mentioned In-n-out's pizza by the slice. Slightly cheaper than backroom, plus they have cheese bread, a convenience store for drinks/other things, and occasionally BBQ chicken pizza (which is amazing because every other place puts onions on their bbq chicken pizza and ruin it).

At Jimmy John's, since they have the fresh bread baked daily, you can buy a loaf of bread from the previous day for 48 cents.

Another option might be to bum meal credits off of friends. On the standard issue meal plan, everybody gets 3 guest meals per term or year (can't remember which one), and if your friends are smart and switch to the 135 meal plan, they can use as many meals as they want on you. There are some people like me who simply don't use that many meal credits in a term, and wouldn't mind sharing them (since it's the minimum option available, and a meal plan is mandatory if you live in the dorms).

Yeah, I don't think you've experience UM until you've gotten a slice of pizza at in-n-out at 3 am on a Friday night.

yep.. study break at in-n-out at 2 or 3 am.
i tend to see a lot of drunk people there though.

There's a good chance I was one of them. I was actually not "drunk", or completely drunk. One of my friends actually collapsed in the bathroom and I had to carry him back to North Campus. Thankfully another person was with me so we switched off.

Fun stuff. I'm excited now, U-M's gonna be great.

How many people besides me are out at 2 or 3 AM getting pizza and not schwasted?

Me! Me!

Wait...
You get out of your room?

Dilksy, I think it goes without saying that if you are eating in-n-out pizza at 3 am on a friday night, you are messed up...same goes for backroom.

Why would you be up at 2-3 AM and NOT have pizza? the idea just boggles my mind

messed up = drunk

Is there a Taco bell in Ann Arbor?

Does the Pope wear a funny hat? Yeah. Tragically, the one on East U is long gone, but there is one on South State (south of I-94) and one on stadium (recently renovated) and one way west at Zeeb.

The East U thing is still a mystery to me. Tell me how a Taco Bell so close to a college campus goes out of business. I don't get it.

I just hope I dont have to walk too far to get my chalupa.

There's always BTB, I suppose.

Maybe you just want quick pizza at 3 am and you're right by that South U. area because you thoroughly enjoy hanging out with a very sweet Martha Cook girl.

Just a hypothetical explanation.

a very sweet Martha Cook girl? huh?

Maybe Taco Bell got ran out by some kind of student campaign similar to killer coke? I only have vague recollections of seeing that Taco Bell as a kid, so it's been gone a long time. I do have pretty solid memories of a Taco Bell vendor at the Michigan hockey games, but that would've been back around 91 or 92.

ccrunner mentioned Cafe Zola -- go for brunch -- it's not that expensive and every bit as delish!

Burrito Joint is decent...1.99 burrito specials. I also like Bell's. Red Hot's is also one of my faves. haha I could go on all day about food in A2.

Anyone use eatblue.com? Sometimes they have awesome specials.

Wow this thread is going great. I'm even getting ideas for new things to try and more expensive places to go for those special evenings. Thanks to everyone so far.

I'd like to know about those fancy restaurants...hehe...if you're going to eat good food, might as well pick the best suggestion...

Yeah eatblue.com is awesome. Great for browsing lots of menus and the online ordering is nice. It's definitely worth checking out.
