Places to golf?

I'm wondering if there are any places fairly near campus to go golfing. I like to go on occasion, but the thing is I've been playing for less than a year and suck pretty bad (usually shoot around 120), and I just like to go for fun with people that suck equally as bad as I do. So the cheaper the better...I'm not looking for fancy upscale country clubs. Any ideas? I'm basically trying to decide if I should bring my clubs with me or not (yet another thing to cram into my dorm room).

Rancho park. or Griffith Park

Mmm, I know this isn't about golf... but I don't want to start a seperate thread for this.

Where are the best places to play pool?

If you're looking for a group of people who suck at golf, look me up in September, I'd love to join. :P One question, is golfing expensive in California?

Lol LSS, sounds good to me.

How close to campus are Rancho park and Griffith park, and how expensive is it to play at either one of those?

Not that much close that isn't private. As mentioned Rancho Park and Griffith Park (has 2 long 18 holes courses, Wilson and Harding and a 9 hole Roosevelt). There is another L.A. city course near Encino but I forgot the name. hen there is DeBell in Burbank, Brookside near the Rose Bowl and Altadena. You have to drive some though. If you were rich you could walk across Sunset Blvd from the campus and play at the Bel Air CC.

I think Rancho Park is the closest to UCLA. I know because I run there for X-coutnry practice. The prices are probably comparable. Google it or something.
