Places to study Operatic History

Hi!

I'm an international student with a great passion for opera. I'm wondering, since my singing talents are pretty limited, where's a good place to study operatic history and appreciation? Thanks in advance :)

PS: If you like opera too I'd love to have a friend to talk about music :D Just PM me ^^

Operatic history could be an area of specialization for a music history student. Frequently the opera history courses are taught by an opera coach or conductor. Strong academic and/or performance credentials would be required.
