Plan II acceptance for 2014 Fall class

I heard that UT Plan II can release decision in mid-November on applicants who completed Plan II application before 10/15. Is anybody get accepted as 2014 Fall incoming class ?

For Fall 2011 Class, the first round of admittances came out end of week before Thanksgiving, so for this year that would be end of this week. With that said, there is no rule when first round comes out. I will be on the lookout for any FB posts, etc about the admission cycle, but for now, it has been very quiet, so my suspicion is no decisions have been released yet. An added note, many kids get by-passed on early notification but go on later to get a positive letter.

If it is the same as previous years, the acceptance packets are 9 X 12 Manilla envelopes with a white label on the return address that say Plan II and their address. It is filled with goodies and you will know it when you see it. ;)

Nothing on plan II acceptance yet. It seems like business honors are being notified.

I was at a Plan II session two weeks ago and they said that they would start sending offers as early as the end of last week. However, they went on to say that they had so many good applications already that they were going to be more selective in making early offers until they had a chance to look at more applications. Otherwise, they would normally make about 40% of their offers in this early window.

I got my Plan II acceptance today in the mail. The letter says November 27, so I’m assuming that today is the earliest it would have arrived for anyone (I live in Houston). Best of luck to everyone else!

Yes, my D also received an acceptance mail, dated Nov. 27. And now we’re waiting for CNS honors since she wanted to attend both Plan II and Dean’s Scholar. The UT admission status web site still doesn’t show my D’s admission to Plan II, though.

Dad2013 - You should read the letter your D got  It clearly says “Your Plan II admission status will NOT be reflected on the status check web site”

My son got his letter yesterday and waiting on engg. honors school update

Dad2013 - You should read the letter your D got  It clearly says “Your Plan II admission status will NOT be reflected on the status check web site”

And it never will reflect on that status page.

Over Thanksgiving break, I was very surprised to receive an acceptance letter from Plan II! However, I have not been accepted to UT Austin yet. I suppose Plan II jumped the gun because it’s odd to receive your acceptance letter to an Honors program before receiving an admissions decision from the general university.

I’ll probably be accepted to UT Austin as an non-automatic applicant, but with the rising number of UT Austin applicants, you can never be too sure.

Congratulations. Plan II itself is a great as a major although it could be better to have another major on top of that.

My son received his Plan II acceptance on Friday as well.

Dad2013, I’m curious how you know that some Business Honors acceptance letters have been received? My son applied to that program as well.

Congrats to all who have received letters!

My D applied to CNS honors (Dean’s scholar), not business honors. I saw in other post that some business honors applicants stared to get a phone notice since they got an interview.

I received an acceptance phone call from BHP last week so those notifications have definitely started coming out.

what was the earliest yall submitted the plan ii applications to have heard back at this time? i submitted mine on october 10th and still have heard nothing from plan ii

Regular UT application thru ApplyTexas in 10/5 including GPA/SAT.
Honors application (PlanII and CNS honors) in 10/9.
Auto admission notice in 10/16 and PlanII admission letter in 11/27.
Wish it help.

It can happen that you are admitted into Plan II and denied from the University in general. I believe your letter of Plan II acceptance with reference that. It is rare, but I know it happened to someone in my daughter’s high school last year. She is happy at the University of Alabama.

There are a large percentage of students that major in just Plan II. Frankly they seem the happiest and most well adjusted of any of the Plan II kids. They have the flexibility to learn what they want, to specialize in specific things, i.e., business foundations, vs straight business, or keep their education broad and general. Plan II “only” kids do equally as well as on MCATS as do Plan II/DS kids, and they enjoy their undergraduate life so much more…lol.

The Plan II deadline of December 1 - did it by chance get extended?

My S, who has been accepted to the University, decided over the Thanksgiving holidays that he no longer wants to major in music. His stats are strong and he is an amazingly well rounded student (IMO). It appears the deadline for Business Honors has been extended until Dec 8th, so I wonder if any other programs he might should consider are still available to apply?

He has successfully gotten his major changed in Apply Texas to Business Unspecified, so that he can complete the Business Honors application. If I understand Plan II, which I really don’t, it appears his second declared major should be Plan II - if he wishes to apply to that as well?

He did such a great job of researching music schools. I thought he was ahead of the process. I did not see this major change coming.

The Plan II deadline has always been firm and I have never known it to be extended. From the website:

December 1
This is the final UT and Plan II application deadline for freshman admission in the fall semester.
This is a DUE-DATE, not a “postmarked by” date! ALL application materials must be received at the UT Office of Admission by December 1.
Plan II strongly suggests that all applicants strive to complete the application by the October 15 recommended application submission date.
