does this apply for engineering too? this “batch” process?

I’m with @InvisibleInc… I haven’t been accepted to the university either and that is semi-concerning. Do they usually update your My Status page the same week they send out the Plan II letters?

Getting accurate information from admissions is an exercise in futility. Every time I get one on the phone I just want to scream “Who are you and what have you done with the real admissions officers???” The Plan II office is great, it’s the main admissions office I wonder about.

Yes, they REALLY do not like calls from parents!

I’m pretty sure last year the big wave of acceptances happened around the 20th of February. Sorry, I am sure this is not what you wanted to hear. However, since December 1st was the deadline for admission, they are now swimming in applications.

They do not provide a presence here on these forums because they do not have to. They are not hurting for quality applications!

My daughter graduates from Plan II this Spring!! I can’t believe it has been 4 years since she was going through these same emotions! She received her acceptance very early (week before Thanksgiving in 2010). I wanted to reassure everyone that never have I EVER heard of a student getting into Plan II and not UT. It simply does not happen. Good Luck to everyone…it is an AMAZING program and it has molded her into a remarkable young women who easily landed a job offer and will be off to bigger and bolder things after graduation!!

Congratulations to you and your daughter, collegeshopping! My son didn’t apply to Plan II but I’ve been following this thread out of curiosity. We are waiting on Dean’s Scholar and Turing now that he was accepted as a comp sci major. You must be immensely proud of your daughter!

Collegeshopping, your daughter and my daughter both graduate from Plan II this spring. Ask your daughter if she knows Marigold, I’m sure she does! Now we are waiting to hear back from Plan II about my son. Starting the process all over again.

I think the next wave for Plan 2 has just come out. My son got a big envelope today. Very exciting news! Good
luck to everyone!

@collegefind … she does indeed know your daughter :)…not sure there is any Plan2er that doesn’t know another, especially in the same class!!

Nothing here in our mailbox today :(

Nothing at our house either today.

Do u guys know if certain majors get letters first?

Still nothing back from even the general university -_-

As an out of stater who applied to honors after October 15th, I’m thinking a February decision is looking more and more likely.

My son got his acceptance letter on last Saturday. We are happy for him. He applied on Oct 15. We called plan 2 office earlier and was told that this year the policy is changed. The general admission office won’t send plan 2 acceptance letter until the student was admitted to general university. Don’t know if it’s true. My son got his admission to engineering school about 1 week ago. Best luck to everyone!

@xftxmom Do you happen to live near Austin, or did the letters make it further on Saturday? I am hoping to hear from them soon. Thanks.

We live in Houston. The plan 2 director told us they sent about 100 letters on first batch. Don’t know how many they send this batch. My guess is about 100 too.

nothing here :(

Will the results not show up on MyStatus?
@ballet19, my D’s MyStatus was updated to show Plan II acceptance recently but it was several weeks after receiving her Plan II acceptance via snail mail in late November. I’m not sure if that’s the norm for how the Plan II process works or not.
An earlier thread mentioned that someone in the Plan II office said there should be a letter with accept/defer/deny sometime before Christmas. DS hasn’t heard anything at all. Anyone get a defer or deny or are the only notices the acceptances?
