@Notknot77098, more info for you. Here is a link to last year’s Plan II’s Summer Orientation Packet. I expect us to receive the 2021 packet in the mail at some point: http://liberalarts.utexas.edu/plan2/_files/pdf/students/P2%20Summer%20Mailing.pdf
Page 6 talks about dual majors. Page 10 talks about how various AP credits transfer in. Page 9 has the courses laid out by year.
Registration starts March 8th for orientation signup: https://orientation.utexas.edu/freshman/registration
Can’t register though until an enrollment deposit is made. I’m still waiting to hear from some RD schools before firmly committing to UT. So can’t pay an enrollment deposit yet. The orientation is like 3 days long. The orientation fee covers dorm room housing.
I “think” Plan II students are suppose to read a couple of books over the summer for “Voltaire’s Coffee” and we should receive a Reading List: https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/plan2/current_stdnts/first-yr/index.php
@Notknot77098 To help insure 4 year graduation, my Plan II dual degree son took one summer of community college classes online through a Texas public community college and transferred them into UT. He took both government classes this way as well as an economics class. My daughter chose to take her last semester of Spanish online through a community college. All of their credits transferred to UT. You can’t do that with more advanced classes but you can do it with the lower level classes and it will help your son to graduate on time. Also it’s inexpensive and not terribly difficult.
@easroark I submitted my honors application MIDNIGHT on the EXTENDED deadline (dec. 8th), fully aware that any apps submitted after nov. 15th will probably hurt you. I still got in
Well, my S never got the letter, but did check his portal and didn’t get Plan II :-/ but DID get accepted into UT CNS, Neuroscience major, which he is excited about. Won’t know if that’s what he picks until all the other notices come in March. He loved the LA focus that Plan II had, but realize that’s only 32 hours of whatever your major is - he would have been CNS anyway, and still in the large 300+ freshman chemistry class… that part I never figured out.
Congrats to those that made it! Best of luck if you choose to go.
Has anyone on waitlist heard back yet? Or do final decisions only come out tomorrow
