DS was on the UT Admitted Student Facebook site and number of individuals reported that they had received notification of admission to LAH via their MyStatus portal. DS just checked under his own honors tab and it had this message: “Congratulations! You are accepted to Liberal Arts Honors.”
So proud of him. Good luck to everyone who is awaiting a decision.

What a nice surprise to know so early. My DD found out near the end of January that she was admitted to LAH. Now she is my LHD (that’s Longhorn Daughter) and loves UT and LAH. She lives at SRD. I also have a LHS who is a junior ME in the Engineering Honors program. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about UT.
Congrats @txcheerstudent, my son told me that there were about 3-4 students on the UT Admitted Facebook site who reported being admitted, all of them received the notification through MyStatus as well. My son had emailed LAH about a week or so ago and they stated that the initial notifications would be done by snail mail and then followed by updates to the MyStatus portal. I believe that is how it occurred with respect to the first wave of notifications that went out; however, somehow this second wave is not following the usual pattern as the MyStatus page provided the initial notification. My son hurriedly accepted the offer last night and the honors tab in his portal now states “You accepted your offer into Liberal Arts Honors.” I’m pretty certain that even though the notification was done initially by MyStatus rather than by snail mail that he, along with everyone else that received acceptances last night through the portal, were truly accepted into the program. (It would explain certain things regarding the timing of his acceptance into UT and his major based on what we learned from attending a LAH info session.) Of course if we don’t receive the magical envelope over the next week or so, I’ll be back to let everyone know if this was some odd glitch.
@fatherof2boys - I know it is a different honors program but, we had a similar experience with Dean’s Scholars.
Based on previous years posts, we were expecting a letter first, followed by an update on MyStatus & it was the opposite.
Not complaining here- it was fabulous to click on that honors tab & see the acceptance! :-bd

@bookmom7 I’m going to take your child’s acceptance as a Dean’s Scholars through MyStatus as confirmation that I can officially start celebrating. This likely seals the deal regarding UT and its nice to not have to worry about any of the RD decisions to the selective private schools. So happy that my boy will continue the family tradition as my wife and I are UT-Austin alums, along with his grandfather.

@fatherof2boys - we were also concerned that it was some type of ‘mistake’… waiting patiently for a letter. Then yesterday DS received an email from the CNS Honors Director that confirmed the acceptance & even specifically stated that a letter would follow but, could be delayed because of other holiday mail.
In the same boat of taking the worry out of RD at other ‘lottery’ private schools! It is time to relax, enjoy the holidays & celebrate our future Longhorns!
Congrats to all the LAH people! Just wondering if anyone has heard back from Plan II recently? Apparently there is another wave set to release on Monday but I’m just wondering if this is true. Unfortunately, the admissions office for Plan II also seems to be closed so I couldn’t contact them to reaffirm this information.
If my MyStatus hasn’t been updated, does that mean I missed this round of LAH admissions? Does anyone know when the next round is?

@liberalguy97 I just called admissions and they said they had sent admissions late last week. People on Facebook received their admissions on Saturday. So they should be coming in today or tomorrow depending on the mail.
Are rejections also being mailed out? Or just the acceptances?
@liberalguy97 A friend of mine said so, and I think a couple of people were also hinting at it on the Facebook page but what @AkReddy said seems more accurate to me. Hopefully I get to hear soon.
@tennisgirl9019 I’m pretty certain its only acceptances so far. No one has received a rejection yet based on what I’ve seen.
Just got my acceptance letter from Plan II!!! So excited. I live in NJ so they made it at least this far

Didn’t take ACT or SAT II’s, thought they were a waste of time
Just got the Plan 2 acceptance letter for my daughter. My son is already in plan 2 and it is a good program. My neighbor also got his acceptance today. Key stats: 35 ACT, 800 SAT math, MD Anderson Research one year (not shadowing, pure research), rank 4/555, Indian origin, 3.94/4/0 GPA and 5.74/6 cumulative GPA, national merit semi finalist, 2 times state debate, other leadership activities.
