PLAN test - anyone here take it?

My son's parochial school offers the ACT series of tests (EPAS) instead of the SAT. They give 10th graders the PLAN test, which is administered by the ACT folks. It is supposed to be a predictor of ACT results, much like the PSAT is for the SAT.

I have never seen it mentioned on CC and was wondering whether anyone has taken it and how your PLAN score compared with your ACT score. Was the prediction right? Was it higher? Lower? I'd welcome any comments - thanks!

I go to a public Louisiana school, and we took the PLAN in 10th grade. I got a 31 (out of a possible 32). The results sheet suggested an ACT score range of 33-35, but I haven't taken the ACT yet, so I can't verify that.

I took the plan test and got a 24 out of 32. It said my predicted ACT range would be 26-30. My first ACT score was 28. So it was correct. But I just got a 34 on the October ACT. So in conclusion, the PLAN test gives accurate scores if you continue at the same pace and do the same preparation for both the PLAN and ACT ( I didn't study for the PLAN or the first time I took the ACT). But if you put the extra effort, the PLAN doesn't mean anything (I got a 34 on my last ACT). You can achieve any score you wish to if you truly dedicate yourself.

Thanks for the replies. It's good to know that you did so much better than predicted when you retook the ACT. There's still hope for him!!

And congrats to you both for the terrific scores!

For me the PLAN test wasnt helpful at all. It predicted a 19-21 for me.... ha, even the first time I took the ACT i got more than that. My final score, 28, is nothing close to my predicted one. I say take what the test tells you with a grain of salt!

i took that tooooo

i just received my scores. I go to a public school in suburban chicago. i got a 29/31 and got a predicted 31-34.

Took it last year. I got a 28/32.

I took the plan test, got a 30/32. Interesting, because I didn't study or prepare for it at all, didn't manage my bubbling effectively and as a result didn't have a lot of time, barely finished my science section (and got a perfect score on that).

I haven't taken the ACTs yet, but I'm thinking about it because I got a 30/32 on the PLAN>
