plan to transfer fall 2012 csu with low gpa

hello.. new to the forum and had a few questions.. little bit about me

at CC in california and plan to transfer to csu ( will apply to csustan, csus, csu eastbay, csu chico and sf state) im transferring as a econ major.. once i transfer i MAY change to business but thats still undecided. i have a REALLY low gpa, right now my gpa is about 2.2. wen i first started cc, i was clueless and signed up for buncha online classes and never ended up dropping them. got F's on my transcript and it completely ruined my gpa! currently i am taking classes to replace those bad grades and will do the same next semester. since i will be applying this oct. my applying gpa will be 2.2, and im pretty sure i would get rejected even tho they require min. 2.0. after talking to some csu counclers and cc transfer advisors, they told me to apply and if i was to get rejected, file an appeal. after this semester my gpa will go up to (2.3-2.5) and by the time next fall comes, my gpa can be as high as 3.0 depending on the classes i take and how i do. anyone have any advice for me? how are my chances at an appeal if i show them that my gpa when i applied (2.2) and what it is now (during appeal) changed and also have letter of recomendations from profs and counclers at my school... when i first started CC, i wasnt into school, slacked a lot and now i am paying for it. i have all my lower division classes that i need to transfer ready. just working to get my gpa higher..
