Are freshmen provided with a year planner/handbook at UCSD or do we ahve to purchase them ourselves?

it's just freshmen ... though i managed to snag one all four years :)

wow astrina, that's cool. how did you manage that? was it as a reward for volunteering or something?

yay, im glad, i have an obsessive need to write things down!

Same here sarah! Too bad I already bought my planner ... !!!

no, i just waltzed into the revelle office during orientation every year and offer up a story along the lines of "all my suitemates have one, can i get one too?"

it beats paying for one at the bookstore.

sometimes if they have a LOT of extras, they leave them in a box at the revelle counselors' office (the fishbowl by CLICS and york). but seeing as i can't stand counselors, option #1 was the way to go.

I got one for free from ASP in the old student center. There were also free ones at Imprints in Price Center. And if you waited till halfway through the school year, the bookstore was selling them for like 80% off and it included pretty good coupons too (20% off purchase/item) that were nice if you wanted to buy a sweatshirt.

I also remember my freshman year, they mailed everyone living in the dorms a planner from Imprints (?). Also, when you move in, there will be one on your desk...at least, for Muir.

If you're not living on campus, can you still get a free planner?

i_lose, did they send the planner to your place back at home or to your dorm?

yeah i didn't get to get mine during orientation, so i'm hoping the Muir dorms will provide us one!

bump...do we get planners mailed to our home address or our dorm?

i know revelle picks up theirs at orientation

^weird, I never received one? O_o Maybe it changed this year.

For Revelle, I remember the OLs saying that we get the planners with our IDs when we move in.
