Planning FAIL...I need help!

So, I am a OOS senior applying to UT Austin.

Credentials:
Ranking: no rank
GPA: 4.0 unweighted ; 4.5ish weighted
SAT I: 2270 ; 800 math; 720 reading ;750 writing (11 essay)
SAT II: 780 Biology; 770 US History
Alot of AP classes, alot of EC, alot of awards

I think that i would get into Austin, but what are my chances for honors college?

Also, since i haven't submitted my austin application, I'm not able to see the supplement for the honors college. Does anyone know what the essay topics are? I'd like to get a head start. Thanks for the help.

Oh, i noticed that on the site that late applications for honors college will be looked at case by case. I’m guessing that it would significantly hurt your chances if its late?

Don’t send it late. But remember, it will take 24-48 hours for the Honors app to show up on your status check. So get that app done asap. Also, you will need letters of rec for most (but not for Plan II) and those have to be there by 12-1. Essay prompt for Dean Scholars and Plan II are on there respective websites.

I know that the regular application requires 1 letter of rec. How many more does the supplement need? And do you have to send it by mail or is it electronic?

Electronic and for Natural Sciences it’s one and Plan II requires none.

Here’s what the Plan II site says about timeliness of apps:

I could swear earlier this fall it said apps submitted after Nov. 15 would be viewed “adversely.” But I don’t see that language up there anymore. Regardless, it’s clear that time is of the essence.

Good luck!

PS - UT is a “receipt” school, i.e., it requires that everything be in its office by Dec. 1, so because you’re OOS, please mail early and account for Thanksgiving. This means whatever your HS must mail, too–transcript, secondary school report or similar, etc.
