I am 9th grader and planning to go to medical school. I think I will range in 1800-1900 for my SAT score. What else should I do to boost up my chances for medical programs?

Please advise. Also, I don't know about such schools in Boston area. Can anyone provide me a pointer to the list of medical program schools in Boston area?

Kid, you’re worrying about this stuff way too early. Worry about getting into college first. Unless you mean 6/7 year BA/MD programs then there’s no reason or point in worrying about medschool. You’re still too young to know whether medicine is for you if you haven’t even been through high school yet. There are many other career options to explore and think about before deciding on medicine. Also, you might be doing well in you classes now but college is different. You won’t till you’re there if you’re even competitive enough to apply for medicine. It might turn out that science just isn’t your field.

I am not trying to be condescending its just that there’s no real advice to give you. There is NOTHING you can be doing now that will make you competitive for medschool. When you apply medschools want to see your activities in college, high school stuff rarely matters.

SAT has nothing to do with going to Med. School. First, you need to graduate from HS, then graduate from college, then see where you are. Relax, enjoy you HS years, could be a lot of fun, or could be a torture, depending strictly on you alone.

Heya, you should probably post in the high school pre-med forum for advice on what do do during HS to prepare. It’s too early to worry about college things.
