Planning my visit to USC... Help!

I'm planning to come to visit USC on Nov 9th, planning to stay in LA for a few days.
I'm not from the states and very low on budget. I already know that the campus area is not recommanded. Any other place would require me to pay lot's of money on transportation.
I heard the university offers temporary housing to students coming from out of state, is that correct? If so, who should I contact in order to reserve such place?

Also, except for taking the usual tour, is there anything else you suggest I do while on campus?

Make sure you get an interview with an admissions officer. USC loves to be loved and someone spending a bunch of money and time to come from outside the country indicates a strong interest in USC. If you set up an interview they will know that you did this. Plus you'll be more than a couple of pieces of paper when they come to review your application. http://caravan.esd.usc.edu/interviewrsvp/default.aspx?where=ShowOnCampus

Talk to random students to see how they feel about the school. See if you can sit in some classes and if you can talk to an administrator in the academic department of interest to you. Speak to the people who serve international students. Try and set up some meetings with USC students from your country (sorry I can't remember where you're from.)

I have been trying for a while to scedule an interview thruogh this page, but don't have an ID number. Any ideas how I get one?

And I'm the same person from Israel who sends you private messages :)

Thanks again for the help!

Sorry. I'm an old guy. Short-term memory is not what it used to be.

Email the admissions' officer you were in contact with. She should help.

Also contact Hillel and find out about Jewish life on campus.
