Planning on applying for a transfer to UIUC's engineering, but I have some questions

As of now, I'm taking two online gen-ed courses this summer to get them out of the way. Microeconomics and Intro to Law.

I believe I'll have either a B, B-, or C+ in Statics, one of the core engineering courses that I took during spring. But I won't find out until next week when the registrar post the finalized semester grades. I expect to get straight Bs and B+s for the rest of my core math/engineering courses (15 semester hours total).

I already registered for an online summer Statics course, though it won't start until mid-June, and I can drop the registration before late June.

I was informed by UIUC admissions that they want see high GPA and do not want to see a C.

If I do get a C+ in Statics, I will drop Intro to Law to take Statics. University of Iowa has a grade replacement policy where they will erase any records of a previous course if a student retakes it, so the C+ and the spring Statics course will not show up on my transcript when I apply for a transfer to UIUC's engineering spring 2015 term.

The question is, should I retake Statics if I get a B or B-? Statics is only worth two semester hours.

On a side note, I am concerned that UIUC admissions will notice that I did worse in the second semester by getting straight Bs vs the first semester of straight As. I underestimated the workload required by the 15 semester hours of engineering courses and was too stubborn to drop any of them. My first semester was somewhat occupied by mandatory engineering introduction courses and a Rhetoric gen-ed course.

I was also aggressively pursuing internships and research positions during the second semester as well, without much success other than getting four interviews that lead to nowhere.
