Planning on dropping ENG

Hey guys, I'm a freshmen in a community collage. I'm looking to transferring to Columbia or NYU as a Business major. As mentioned in the title, I am planning on dropping my ENG 1A class. The reason being, I have a horrible professor. Out of a class of 30 students, only 6 PASSED the first assignment and the rest failed. He puts a lot of his own personal opinions into grading your essay and replaces words you specifically chose.

So now the question is, how much would "w" on my future transcript affect me? I have been browsing around on the forum, and a lot of people said it's not that big of a deal, especially if it does not correspond with your major. But then again, ENG 1A is... a re-requ.. so yeah. I have a 3.88 - 4.00 GPA (exluding ENG), though it is too early to tell what the final result will be. So which is better: taking a "w" or getting a possible "c" and end up with a 3.34 - 3.5 GPA?

bump~~~~~~~~~

bump again~~~~~
~~

some help please guys~~

Do yourself a favor and take the “w”. Most interviews for internships only require you to state your gpa, and a “w” will most likely not be included into the calculations.

Thank you~ However the issue is now resolved. Teacher decided to take a sick leave for the rest of the semester… miracles happen~
