Planning schedule for junior year. Precalc?

Nothing is official yet but it looks like so far I am taking

AP Biology
AP US History 2
AP English
HON Latin 2
ACC Astronomy

I’m toying with the idea of taking these and honors Precalculus and a study hall, or accelerated precalc and another elective or science instead of study hall. I am at present in accelerated/regular Algebra 2 and have an A+ (100.7) and should have taken it Honors.

Any thoughts? Obviously it depends on the teacher and so on, but for someone who is modestly good at algebraic equations, would honors precalc be very difficult? I hear so many people say it is harder than calculus.

Anything? Anyone? I have to submit my schedule in the next forty-eight or so hours. IN SHORT: IS HONORS PRECALC VERY DIFFICULT FOR SOMEONE GOOD AT REGULAR ALGEBRA 2 ? Thanks!

If you have an A+ in regular Algebra, absolutely take Honors Precalc?

I’m getting good grades in Honors Precalc right now and I took regular algebra 2 last summer. It should be pretty easy for you since you’re good at math. It all depends on your school though…I would ask your classmates how hard your school’s curriculum is

Take Honors precalc and a fun elective (could be art, culinary arts, current events…)

Are you taking any AP’s this year and how are you doing in them? It looks like you are good at math so Honors Precalc would be fine. Just be sure you give yourself enough time to study and do hw with your schedule. Some AP’s can be time consuming and you want to keep grades strong in junior year.

Yeah, due to a bit of misinformation last year, I am not taking any AP classes currently. Next year will be my first taste of AP. (when it matters most, ha) I ended up picking regular because apparently last year only two kids in a class of 23 passed Honors Precalc.

Then just be sure you have time to commit to that many AP’s either through a study or after school. They can move at at fast pace with many tests and quizzes which some people can handle and others it could cause a lot of grief. Good luck!

Thank you!! I’m excited. Hopefully study hall will help fulfill that time to commit to the APs.
