Planning Senior Schedule

Hi,
I have been taking all the hardest classes throughout high school. I am currently a junior and am planning on applying to brown early. My CORE academic classes this year are AP Chem, APUSH, accelerated precalc, honors spanish 4, and accelerated english. I have all As except for a B in english. So far for next year I have AP Calc BC, AP Bio, AP physics 1, honors senior english seminars, and either AP spanish or AP Psychology. I am split between Psych and spanish because I only have a spot for one in my schedule, and I want to take AP Psych because its with a great teacher, but I have heard AP spanish is considered as a better course to take to get into a selective school, like Brown. I also have leadership in spanish club and I would lose that if I was not to take AP Spanish.
Would one class (psych or spanish) sway my chances of getting in?
Should I take AP spanish because it “looks” better, or is it ok to take psych and lose a leadership position and enjoy it more?

Thanks!

Choosing between two AP-level courses is not going to affect your application. As long as you’ve had 3 years of a foreign language in high school (which it sounds like you have), it’s not going to make a difference.

Agree with Bruno. Take the class you want. What if you take Spanish and still don’t get in?

Agreed. You’ve met the foreign language threshold. Take whichever you enjoy more. Taking classes to “impress” admissions is a faulty strategy.
