planning to transfer. help please :)

so here's my deal...

i'm currently a freshmen at the university of hartford in CT

i did pretty well my first semester, and i'm currently doing equally as well this semester.

i got 5 As and 1 B+ on my first semester transcript. this semester i should get a solid 6 A's.

i am taking six 3 credit courses a semester

i'll have over 30 transferable credits at the end of the year, so i will not be submitting my SAT score, since they are only required if an applicant has less then 30 credits.

i have a 3.8 GPA, and made the presidents list.

i have very good rec's, and ok extra circs

i have visited tulane already this year, and spoken with a women in admissions, but she was only able to tell me so much.

my highschool background was awful...a friend of mine passed away junior year, and my grades reflect my depression. in fact im - my grades were horrific. the only i'm at the university of hartford was due to good SATS, and a powerful essay.

what do you think my chances are of transferring into tulane for my sophomore year? any advice so appreciated. i've been very stressed about this for a while, and want to know if my expectations are unreasonable. thank you sooooo much :)

oh and p.s i don't know if this effects the decision process at all, but i know the economy is currently pretty bad, and i'm not asking for any money at all - in scholarships, aid, or loans. don't know if that helps....but wanted to throw it in there. THANKKKK YOU =]

Yes, excellent chance.
