Planning to transfer to UC. Need Help.

I am planning to move to california next year. I am a hawaii resident and attending a cc. I have a 3.0 gpa with 30 credits. I am planning to finish 30 credits this year. If I apply to a UC at a junior level standing but did not fulfill the requirements for a major, do I still have a chance of getting in?

depends on the major. How competative it is and just how much of the preqs u've done....

I am applying and i don't have all the prereqs done... It's common.

Also depends on where u're applying to....

Just in case u didn't know, Berkeley IMO is the hardest UC to transfer into... They are pretty strict about having all or most preqs done...

SD and UCLA are pretty tough, but not awful.

The rest are fairly easy.

is it possible to transfer with an undecided major?

No, the UCs do not let you transfer with an undecided major.

I want to transfer into UCLA as a psych major but they are selective in that area. Any advice to up my stats?(stats are above)

um, psych is impacted major unfortunatly.

Work on the essays... Try to get close 4.0 this semester

Apply to other UC like SB and UCR....

There is no reason for u not to be able to finish all the preqs by the end of the year though.

A friend of mine got into UCLA last year as psych major, and he left chem, physics for the last semester b4 he transfered.

so he got in without the other requirements?

Should i worry about being a nonresident because uc gives 1st priority to cali residents and this lower my chances of getting in?

Sorry to let you down the uc's are really strict towards out of state transfer so you def want to get your gpa up for a chance.but i know you can do it good luck

Yah and I think the minimum GPA to apply is like a 3.2 so definitely try to bring up that GPA.

CD, He did, but like i explained he finished those preres in his second year. It's fine if u plan to take the classes, but u have to get it done b4 the end of the year... Also his GPA was 3.7

i'm planning to move to cali no matter what happens. What should i do if i don't get in? I was planning on going to santa monica college for one year then transfer. Is that a good idea?

Make sure to apply to other UCs and Cal States.

What uc has the "easiest" the admission?

riverside, its near 100%, lol probably not 100 but close to it.

the list goes as follows

berkeley
la
sd
davis
sb
sc
r
is merced opening this year?

Most people say it doesn't matter which CC u attend. I actually attend smc, it's pretty hard....

U can apply every year, if thats what u're asking.

wingzer, you forgot Irvine.

I would say that any of the "lower" UCs are all equally easy to transfer to because of the TAG agreements that exist between them and certain CCs.

what do you mean "lower" ucs?

he means not ucla. more like UCR,UCSB,AND UCSC. Ucla won't even look at you if you have below 3.2 and they only admitted 93 out state students last year out of like 700 or something. so goodluck try to get your gpa up.

psych is the most popular major at UCLA
