Planning to transfer to UC. Need Help.

what about my chances in getting into private colleges in cali? or is it all the same?

depends on which ones...

there are so many different ones

I have to say u have to get ur GPA up to 3.4 to be competative for the schools that u seems to be interested in....

IF not, u're going to have to settle for the other school, which are also good though..

what other schools can i apply for in the U.S.?

which ever u want.......

I only have 25 transferable units as of now, and I'm taking 14 transferrable units this semester (18 total....) and planning on 6 in the winter and 20 in the spring.
That will leave me with 64 transferrable units.

My current UC transferrable GPA is 3.3
I am planning to apply to the following UC's and CSU's under the following majors:

UCLA: Jewish Studies
UCR: Sociology
CSUF: Poli Sci
SDSU: Poli Sci
UCSD: Poli Sci
UCSC: Poli Sci
UCSB: Poli Sci

I'm not applying to Irvine.

My chances at this time?

there is no minimum to "apply," you can apply with whatever you want. Many people are aware that cc transfer have been accepted with gpa's like 2.8. It just depends on what ELSE the student has on their application, aside from just pure academic merit.

And also of course, it may not be nearly as difficult to get accepted into UCLA's Russian studies program, as it may be to get accepted into their Bio dept under a 2.8 gpa, just as an example. But it can happen, just depends on the dept. and its respective # of applicants, but that's not the whole story either. For example, in some language dept, one Fall qtr, 2 professors might decide to retire, and because it's relatively difficult to find professors to fulfill new positions in that dept., you may get accepted into that dept. for the same term, with a 2.5. Just pointing out a scenario... :)

That doesn't make Russian studies any less of a major.

-Don't mess with us Russians =P-

I didn't say it does.

Of course it doesn't. I was obviously just pointing out the department at some specific school. I'm sure there are schools with excellent Russian studies programs of course.

I only wanted to make a pointless comment.....mmmm

o_O
