Plans For March 10th

As the date comes closer and time seems to go slower, an interesting issue seemed to arise in my mind. I realized that my schools will be announcing decisions at all different times throughout the day. I never really thought about how I would handle this, but it would be interesting to see how others plan to. Do any of the people who are reapplying this year mind sharing what they did last year?

So... do you plan on staying home from school all day waiting for results? Are you going to open some before school and some after? Are you going to run to the computer lab during school? Will you wait until after school to open any?

Feel free to voice your opinion on any of these possibilities or create new ones.

I am letting DS stay home from school. No matter which way things go he wouldn’t be able to concentrate. And he doesn’t miss school often so he can afford a day.

I’ll be on vacation, so I think I’ll just hang out by the computer all day waiting.

Spring break for me!

I’m going to stay home

My mom would have to drag me out of my bed and snatch my computer away if I go to my school. And M10 is my bday so idk.

7D2 will probably be in tech/dress rehearsal mode for a school production that week, and gearing up for a big tournament the following weekend…so I bet we’ll check all sites when she gets home from school that day.

I’m probably going to look at the ones I can before school and the rest when I come home.

I get to sleep in (if I can sleep) so once I wake up and can probably see at least one of my results.

@stargirl3: When my older daughter was doing this, we said we wouldn’t check before she went to school, but did. Happy result…but I can’t imagine what that day at school would have been like if the news from SPS had been a rejection or wait list. SAS came by mail and Choate said that they would post at 5 pm that day.

I hear during my first period which is my study hall. But I’m begging my mom to let me stay home from school just on a standpoint of if I don’t get in, I’ll be heartbroken and won’t concentrate, and if I do get in I’ll be buzzed and won’t concentrate. But I’ve been sick a lot this year, a total of 10 days. I hope she’ll let me stay home haha.

I wouldn’t be able to wait, I’d have to open it the moment I get it. I asked my friends not to talk about it and wait for when I’m ready to tell. If I get in I’ll probably scream it to the entire world, but if I don’t I don’t want my friends telling me it’s okay, blah blah blah. So yeah. I also wrote a note to myself in preparation for rejection.

@SevenDad I’ve thought about it, but I won’t be able to focus no matter what.

When I applied to Groton last year, my teacher told me I could call her by her first name for a day if I got in. She never said what year, so I’m going to call her by her first name for a day if I get in this time. Thing is, I won’t know until I get home so it’d have to be the next day and I want it to be a surprise. I talk to her every morning… we’ll see.

My kids will have to go to school, but at least they should know a couple of results before they leave. We really have no idea what to expect.

Maybe he will want to go if the news is good…he only applied to one school and notification is early enough that he will likely know. I won’t make him go if news is bad though. He’ll be a wreck. He’ll need at least a day to pull it together.

I am going to ask my parents to schedule a dentist appointment that day or something. If not then I will just tank it out at school and then have my parents come home early so we can open them together.

My kid will be at the sports’ training camp, so I will be the one checking the results (yeah!) and reporting to the kid via text messages or phone calls:).

Anyone planning on checking DURING school? The temptation to rush to the computer lab during lunch will be overwhelming.

My daughter will be in school that day. She has a test every Monday so she can’t miss that BUT we will check at midnight and before she goes to school. I’ve already promised that I’d text her with news but if she gets accepted into her FC…I plan on showing up at her school with a T-shirt from her FC school (given to her by a student of that school) and hold it up high as she exits school so she can see the good news! I hope that I get to surprise her like this

I’ll be at school, then swim practice

Moosieboy will be home most of the day, but Moosiehubs wants to be home before we find out! So it’ll be a LONG day for all of us! Maybe when we get the letter or email, I’ll call hubby to come home IMMEDIATELY so we can open the darn thing together!!! What a hard thing to have to do, to sit and wait to open the letter!!!
