What are your plans for Summer 2011? Taking extra courses? Tanning in the Bahamas?

im about to chill erryday and get fit

MITES and getting Basketball fit.

I’ll be in 9th grade next year, so I’m really trying to get a head start on my EC’s and coursework. Over the summer, I’m doing Algebra 1, an internship with “Moments 2 Success” (last year I did an internship with the “Ami Bera Campaign”), and I will be in LA for a small portion of the summer for vacation and what-not!

lol in going on a missions trip to Guatamala and working(: hopefully ill just have time to chill and prepare myself for senior year!

Trying to get atleast 150 hours of volunteering.

Hopefully I’ll try and get around 60 hours of volunteering by tutoring Math at my Local High School (nothing extravagant like Guatemala Mission trips, aha) - and perhaps 30-40 hours volunteering at my local Library.

I’m also going to try and get in “shape” for Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor track.

taking chem and calculus at CC

working and volunteering at the library and the medical center by my house

I’m going to CTY camp for 3 wks then do some reading at home. I also tutor, hopefully that’ll continue in the summer, so I get more tutor experience and $$.
It’s not a volunteering job.
What do you guys volunteer, except I know preamble will tutor?

lol and im interning with a new and successful acting company. its like being a manager >.< kinda excited. but i dont want to do anything in the arts. just something fun!

going to guam, samoa, northern mariana islands and the dominican republic to be with family and get some volunteering done!

going to visit colleges (hopefully) in california / wash u in st louis since it’s relatively close

tutoring / hospital volunteering / interning

discover new bands

shopping.

golf, golf, golf, golf, golf, golf, my birthday, and more golf

Tutoring

Volunteering at an animal shelter

Being a camp counselor

Taking my boyfriend with me to visit my hometown in Texas

Potentially taking online courses, though part of me is against the idea of focusing on school during the summer

Aha. My Summer is going to be nearly isolated. Our Local Library is basically Deadtown, USA during the Summer. Volunteering there is going to be filled with hours of idly sitting, either reading, or staring at the wall as no one passes through, with the exception of maybe one or two teenagers a day.

As for the tutoring, Geometry is the really big ticket item up for taking, since most High Schoolers (incoming Freshman) take it to get it out of the way math-wise, and very few people take Algebra I, so my friend and I, who is also volunteering are probably going to be stuck tutoring one kid for 60 hours.

Funfunfun.

I’m probably going to hang out with my friends at like TOP (Top of the Park) and go shopping etc with them. Then, I’m going to cali for a family vacation. I’m going to China to volunteer at a panda reserve and in a rural village. I might do some more volunteering at local humane society. I’m a sophomore, so I’m probably gonna start studying for the ACT. I probably should start ninjutsu, since I told my friend I would a while ago & I also want to learn how to play the guitar. I like to be busy.

Working maintenance at the local water park

Going to graduation parties

Being in my cousin’s wedding

Getting ready for college

Oh gosh. I feel so “lame” in comparison to the wonderful deeds of humanity that people are going to accomplish this Summer. I’m going to be teaching half asleep students that “Y=mx+b” and telling groggy teens where “To Kill a Mockingbird” is for their mandatory Summer Reading Assignment.

My summer will be spent working, doing summer work for APUSH next year, taking Precalculus at the local CC, and relaxing by the pool:). I can’t wait!..for the pool anyway!

Volunteer at a hospital
Internship/job as a lab assistant
SAT classes
Study Chinese

That’s about it.
