Study hard.

@boardingschoolx yes raven right here! :D

Oh, as for the topic, I’m going to buy a ravenclaw banner for dorm room And study lots… And read a lot about Exeter and buy and buy and buy stuff all summer for school :P

@RocketComet You’re going to buy a Ravenclaw banner??? I am so jealous. So utterly jealous.

Hehe >:)

Well I need stuff to make my room as comfortable and pretty and as “me” as I can :)

@stargirl if you are a 8th grader now you can apply as a repeat 9th grader. That is what I did, and i thinks chances are better

I will be moving out of Ethiopia, drama camp in UK, california and then BS (boarding school)

@RockComet I am going to get a bulletin board thing and tack up my postcards/photos etc.

AND I hope I can get a memory foam mattress. I’ve heard from some of my friends (who are already boarding) that they can’t live without their memory foam mattresses because they are so comfortable.

Change of plans: Sleepaway math camp for a month, then SSAT summer “school” for another month. Add to that lots and lots of swimming.
(@mrnephew help me out here, what’s an appropriate definition of hagwon? Instituition or school? Or would it be academy?)

@boardingschoolx my sis cannot do without her memory foam either, so its definitely on the list for me… Only that I am going to have to buy every thing there because of… intl+travel rarely+2 suitcases only My parents are most probably getting my bedding stuff at residence hall linen… thats what they did with my sister…

I have thought about bulletin board. I’ve got one home, but transporting is not really a possibility I do not know what to do about books though. I would like to take some special ones (HARRY POTTAHHH xp) but that would be waste of space and Exeter’s library is so big anyways :P

@RockComet I’m an int’l student, too! I’m planning on buying all my necessities in Boston (I’m going to SPS, and Concord might not offer everything that I want). I heard Bed, Bath & Beyond is going to be offering discounts during the summer?

I’m sure you can get bulletin boards at Target or Wal-Marts or something :)

YES. Bring Harry Potter. My mom deems it “impractical”, since my suitcase is tiny, but maybe I can smuggle Philosopher’s Stone & Deathly Hallows into my bag? Maybe the libraries of Exeter/SPS will offer HP??? :O

@boardingchoolx Oh you are intl too! Cool. Where are you from?

My parents have had their experience with kids going to study in the US, as my sis is a college student, so I’m only packing essentials. A lot of clothes mostly. Winter clothes and bedding and room shopping have to wait till I get there. Bed Bath and Beyond is pretty good… but we will see there is a lot of time for that.

Oh, I am pretty sure that the Harry Potter books are offered in the school’s library… but I need mine so I am…somehow… going to take Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows with me :P

I liked the Order of Phoenix most after Deathly Hallows.

It used to be my favorite too, but I read it again a week ago and… I cannot handle Sirius’s death… I just can’t :’(

But its the longest of all seven and one of the most interesting books of the harry potter series, no denying.

My favorite part of all the books is the last 7ish chapters of the last book. They way messed it up in the movie!! @RockComet How do you plan on getting around to buy stuff? I plan on doing the same thing (I live in the Midwest, so not as much traveling as you, but still…), but Walmart and other bigger stores are too far away for walking.

@RockComet If you don’t mind sharing, where does your sister go to school?

@stargirl3 She goes to MIT
@omgjusttellme well I will stay a couple of days in Cambridge and Boston so I’m going to try to buy some stuff there… and I guess online shopping is a pretty good option…But I really have no idea xp

@RockComet I’m Singaporean, but I live in Shanghai (China). How about you?

And whoa, MIT? GENIUS ALERT.

@mrnephew I loved Order of the Phoenix, but Deathly Hallows is my personal favorite: mainly because it sums up the entire series and I loved the last few chapters.

@omgjusttellme YES. THEY MESSED UP THE LAST 7 CHAPTERS IN THE MOVIE YES YES YES. I hated the ending in the film. it didn’t give me the closure I so desperately needed.

@omgjusttellme They actually screwed up the ending battle… and I hate them for it… The battle would have been infinitely better if it had been the same as in the book…

@boardingschoolx I’m from Europe, or so I like to say from Albania
And yes, MIT, and thats where I want to go :DD :3 who do you think made me love science since I was a baby? :P…and told me to read harry potter when i was a kid… and made me apply to Exeter…and helped me to study for math olympiads… ahhh the perks of having an older sister :3 <3

@RockComet I also have an older sister, but she isn’t as nice :)

@RockComet Did she go to Exeter? Did she make you apply to Groton too? :p
