Playing sports outside of school?

Should it be included in applications? For example, I play football everyday, usually with a large group of friends. I'm very passionate about it but never joined a school team because 1) I moved a lot so I never got the chance to try out, and 2) I'm a girl, so coaches and other players probably wouldn't want me on the team anyway.

So should I still include this as an extracurricular or should I leave it out?

Yes! A girl playing football is not the most common thing out there. But if you can, try out. That would look much better.

This sounds like just a bunch of people meeting in the field to play. That’s not an EC.

I agree. Not an EC. My D plays club volleyball and my S plays travel hockey and lacrosse. Those are EC’s.

Maybe you can work it into your essays or in the ‘other information’ areas.

Tough one for an official EC. But if you play regularly, I would put it in the “Additional Comments”

Thanks everyone! I talked to the coach about it and he said I can’t join because of the places and techniques used to tackle each other. Oh well, it makes sense why it doesn’t count as an EC, just wanted to clarify.

He needs to join this century.
