Please advise me on my college list!

I have been trying to make a list of colleges for now before starting the essays. But I am having hard time figuring out match school for me since I don't really have big knowledge of schools.
I am class of 2013 and Asian immigrant in large public school. (came to America in 8th grade)
These are my stats:

GPA UW:3.98
SAT: 2160 - R 630 M 800 W 730
SAT2: Math 2-800 Physics - just took it last saturday but at least 780+
ACT: 34 - R 31 M 36 Sc 34 W 34 Essay:10
Class Rank: 27 out of 750
Clubs(member): NHS, NSHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Robotics, Math team - 3 years(including senior year)
Club(founder): a kind of civil right, human liberty club - 1 year(senior year)
Sports: varsity swimming - 3 years
Notable Awards: president's award for volunteering, KSEA Math Competition 2nd place in Georgia.
Work experience: McDonald's this summer and will intern at an engineering firm during the fall semester.

Volunteering hours: 400+ (with non-profit organization in Washington DC and Atlanta)
Intended Major: Biomedical or Electrical Engineering

After little research, my incomplete list includes
HIGH REACH: MIT, Stanford, Columbia
REACH: Cornell, Rice
Match: Georgia Tech
Safety: community colleges?

What are some good engineering schools that I can apply to? And could you please edit my list if there is any misplaced schools?

Additional Q: will the fact that I came to America in 8th grade help me in admission?

THANK YOU!!

Send your ACT instead of your SAT

Rochester - Match
Virginia tech - safety
Wisconsin - Safety
Minnesota - Safety
Rice - Reach
Michigan - Match
Texas a&m - Match (Auto admit for your ACT score)
University of Georgia - Safety
Northwestern - Reach
Harvey Mudd - Match (LAC)

Not sure of Fin aid

Have you tried the net price calculators? Remember, your safeties must be affordable.

Some low cost safety possibilities with your ACT 34 and GPA 3.98:

UA Birmingham (EE and BME): $15,000/year scholarship, remaining COA ~= $10,000/year
UA Huntsville (EE): full ride scholarship
UA Tuscaloosa (EE): full tuition + $2,500/year scholarship, remaining COA ~= $12,000/year
Howard (EE): tuition, room, board, $950 for books, remaining COA ~= $5,000/year

Other schools worth considering to see if they can be safeties:

NCSU (apply for the Park full ride scholarship)
Virginia Tech
Minnesota

Don’t forget to apply for the President’s scholarship at Georgia Tech.

thank you for the suggestions!

Should I just not send SAT score at all? because my second SAT was worse than the first one and didn’t help me out on superscoring. Or should I at least send it for 800 on math?

Terrible advice. His GPA/test scores are WAY better than those schools you list. HOWARD?! That’s a black person school! …He’s ASIAN!!! For a Berkeley alumnus I thought you’d know better.

Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, Cal, Princeton, NYU, Columbia, USC, Wash U, UPenn, Northwestern, Cornell, MIT. You’ll get into one of those, I guarantee it. I see kids like you all the time get in.

Forget Rice, it’s overrated.

Grabbit, those are financial safeties not matches. And Rice is not overrated it is a great school (under rated).

That’s what you do to find safety schools with big merit scholarships guaranteed for stats (which may be necessary for some students’ family finance situations). Are you suggesting that the OP not have any safety schools other than community college (which is certainly an option worth considering, but not necessarily the only option)?

So you are you saying that an Asian person can only go to a heavily Asian school (UCs, some CSUs, Hawaii), as opposed to a “black person school” or a “white person school”?

@ROYGBV

I looked over your list, and I was shocked to see that you listed your safety as “community college”! You are shooting very high, and you have pretty good stats. Even if you do not get into any of the high or medium reach schools you have listed, there are plenty of other great schools worth applying to as “safeties”. I’m sure with some research you could find these schools that meet your needs and make you happy-and that have better rankings than the local university. Good luck!

Guys i need help!!
lowest cost tuition in NY?
reply soon!!!

I might send your ACT and SATII scores only but I don’t think it is a big deal either way. I second adding schools like UMichigan, URochester, UWisconsin, UWashington, Carnegie Mellon, Bucknell, Case Western. Right now, there is way too big a gap between your match schools and a community college.
