Please advise! Re-entry.

I've applied to Wisc. this year and got accepted. However, i cannot attend this year due to Military service and asked wisc. if they can defer me for 1 year until Fall 2009. Unfortunately, they don't defer international students. Instead they told me to simply re-apply next year... as a re-entry student.

I'm quite confused because i thought you only apply as re-entry if you studied at wisc before. and what are my chances of getting accepted again? i'd really like to attend madison. please advise, thanks a bunch

Sorry if I sound stupid here:

Is there any way at all that you can get out of the military service? Can you be exempt from it because you are going to college? I don't know what country you are in and what your laws are, but there may be some sort of opportunity to be exempt from any service obligations if you are going on to college/university.

As for deffering admission, I have a feeling they won't let you, but wait for someone else to say that as I'm not an authority on that in any way, shape, or form.

EDIT: I looked on your profile and did a little research, but am having no luck finding much of anything. All I found is shanghai . It seems you can go to a military academy though :S Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Talk to admissions to clarify officially- re-entry sounds like a good thing, they already processed all of your paperwork and found you acceptable; when you do actually want to attend they probably look you up in their files and let you in without any hassles.
