Even though its the middle of my senior year, I never had the chance to do this! So here are my stats and the schools I'm applying to..

I am half Armenian and Japanese. I am fluent in Japanese and currently trying to learn Farsi. I attend a small private school in the AL.

Extra info: I've won numerous awards on my photographs. I volunteer once a week at a cancer research institute. I spend my summers in Mexico where I do volunteer work. I am a Katrina victim, spent the entire hurricane in a suitcase (I used it as a boat and floated in the water).

I've applied to
Stanford
WashU
UCLA
UC Berkeley
Duke
Vanderbilt
Emory
Yale
Columbia

Very strong chances at Vandy and Emory and most likely some of the others. I think you have a lot of good stuff here (besides gpa/scores) that should help with some of your other schools. Best of luck!

Sub-par SATs (although your ACT score is fine) and the lack of a rigorous math course will significantly lower your chances of admission at the 'top' schools. You appear to be a good candidate for everywhere else.

Stanford- high reach
WashU- high match/low reach
UCLA- high match
UC Berkeley- high match/low reach
Duke- low reach
Vanderbilt- match
Emory- match
Yale- high reach
Columbia- reach

for the same reasons as listed above, I guess

Stanford - Reach
WashU - Slight reach
UCLA - Fine
UC Berkeley - Slight reach
Duke - Slight reach
Vanderbilt - Fine
Emory - Slight reach
Yale - reach
Columbia - reach

Your profile looks great but it's the SAT that kills it. However, you made it good on the ACT so that might make up for it. You have strong EC's so make sure to EXPAND on those 'cause you have alot of material to choose from. I think you still have a shot at the hardest schools in your list but that depends upon how well you convery your persona and ECs in your essays.

What is your safety? Please tell me you just didn't put it down....I would be most concerned about your level in math....I'm not versed on all of your schools, but I imagine that might present a problem....OTOH, Alabama may help you....Good luck!

Your SAT II scores are fabulous and so is your ACT. I think you will be okay for AT LEAST Berkeley and UCLA. Yale, Colombia and Stanford are reaches for everybody but its good to take a chance because you never know: they might be looking for someone just like you. Congrats on everything, I'm sure you'll get into at least a few of those schools. Good Luck!

i think u have a GREAT chance at all of those schools ESPECIALLY if u emphasize the fact that you are a katrena survivor. I mean, that is very unique. Your obviously smart and will get into great schools, but I'm not sure about yale and the other ivy leagues, then again no one is EVER sure about those. I think you have a good chance at all of your schools beause you are so unique and speak japanese.

Stanford - Reach

Retake your SAT. When the CB releases your SAT IIs, your SAT will also be released... Schools will still see it. Katrina is interesting, but by no means a hook. Get some more safeties/matches, is my advice.

well ive been accepted to all of my safeties (tulane, uga, alabama. why would i need more??) so im done with that.

well my SATs arent super horrible but they are just in the 600s.. there is just a discrepancy between, for example, a 34 on the ACT and a 1930..
