<p>im looking at university of texas at austin (out of state) syracuse, and usc</p>
<p>UT-Austin and USC are both very big reach schools (read near 0) unless you are being recruited for sports.</p>

<p>It’s not the SAT its the GPA for OOS admit to UT Austin you need to be looking around 3.7+ GPA with solid sat scores (They are required to admit the top 8% of students in Texas so not alot of room for out of state). What major do you want?</p>

<p>What is your class rank? UT does not actually consider GPA. See section C7: <a href=“http://www.utexas.edu/academic/ima/sites/default/files/CDS_UT_Austin2009-10%20(Final).pdf[/url]”>http://www.utexas.edu/academic/ima/sites/default/files/CDS_UT_Austin2009-10%20(Final).pdf</a> Course rigor and class rank are rated most important. ECs and SATs are rated the same for importance. For an OOS student I would guess you need to have SATs >2100 to make up for any kind of middling class rank.</p>
