Please answer this question!!!

I don't know if this really fits under "What Are My Chances", but I didn't really know what other forum to post it in.

I'm a student that was in the high honors list in my first semester of junior year, but then in my second semester, even though I got the 94% + average gpa, because one of my scores were under 83%, I was not able to receive high honors.

Is this a huge problem? I'm really worried right now because colleges may think that I have gotten worse throughout the year.

I actually improved all my grades in all of my other classes ( 7 classes out of 8), but the only class in which my grade decreased was in math, which was also my lowest grade in my first semester.

I'm going to major in communications so I know that humanities is more important, but I'm just really worried about colleges thinking that I am slacking off throughout the year.

Is getting only general honors (rather than high honors like I did in my first semester) in my second semester of junior year going to hurt my chances in the college admission process?

By the way, I'll be able to greatly improve my grades in the first semester of senior year because I finally dropped math as a class, so I only have humanities classes, because they are more closely related to my desired major.

Please leave your thoughts!!!

no they don’t care at all about honors, but don’t drop math! You need four years of all core courses!

@guineagirl96 thank you so much, I feel a lot less worried about the honors problem now. But I want to get into communications at Nothwestern and it says that for the communications school, you only need 3 years of mathematics. So I just dropped it to make room for more courses that would be related to communications. Do you still think I need math? The thing is… math is really my worst subject and it really brings down my GPA

what is the highest level of math you have completed?

@guineagirl96 pre-calculus this year

If I were you, I would take AP Stat next year, but that’s just my opinion. Perhaps others have a different view. Colleges prefer if you have the core classes all four years

^I agree with above, 4 years Math, 4 years Science, 4 years English and at least 3 years Language should be part of our High School Cirriculum.
