"RBAY, you know I think you're okay, but that statement made you kind of suck."

Sorry, if it helps it wasn't directed at you. But whatever.

I know for a fact that it's dishonest to tell someone with a 480 they have a chance to get in. What are you doing with such a lie exactly besides conning this poor person into wasting her parents money?

take the SAT again if you want to apply to Tufts. At least buy a prep book and work through it. If you have the time and money, take a prep course. Stanley Kaplan and his imitators have proved that despite whatever college board says, it most definately is possible to study for the SAT.

I know more than a few kids who performed poorly on thier SATs and got into Tufts.

And your other info seems great.

To be honest, college admissions is hard to predict but you should absolutely apply.

Don't be discouraged by anyone's bitting negativity- some people don't seem to have anything to do except bash other people over internet forums.

So again, if you want to go to Tufts, apply.
Write letters, send info.
Express interest, it really does help.

Good luck.

that's all well and good, except that Tufts is quite a bit harder to get into now than it was even five years ago. The average SAT score for admitted students is about a 1430 IIRC, and the average for enrolled students is a 1405. An 1170 is probably not going to cut it unless you're an athlete or a development candidate. I could of course be wrong and concede that I am not all-knowing, and I realize that the SAT isnt always an accurate measure of academic ability.

I'd encourage you to apply, but also to retake the SAT.

^ ^ ^ Quite well said, Wrath.
