I have taken 9 AP classes with 5's on 4 AP exams. I'm graduating with 38 credits. In addition, I'm enrolled in an academy and have taken 4 years of Japanese and Chinese.

Senior schedule:
AP Biology
AP Psychology
AP English Lit
AP Calc
AP Gov
Advanced Orchestra
Chinese 4
Academy class

So far my grades are looking at straight A's for the semester grades, just to show improvement. I have 150 community service hours and am involved in 10 clubs and organizations. I am in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track and varsity letters for the past 3 years. I was also Captain in Cross Country.

These, along with stellar teacher recommendations and essays because they're sort of my forte. I'm applying to:

Va Tech, William and Mary, UVA, University of Richmond, Virginia Military Institute, CNU, UNC at Chapel Hill, John Hopkins, Washington University in St. Louis, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, and Harvard just to.

My goals are to dual major in Biochemistry or Cellular and Molecular Biology or Neuroscience (depending on the school) and Psychology. What are my chances please?

Are you in VA? If so, I believe you’ll get in to all the VA schools, including the one private VA school on the list, U of R. These threads are kind of silly but you’ll get into many of the schools on your list. There are so many variables that it’s hard to say but you are an impressive candidate. I would think your language classes among other things make you fascinating to admissions officers.

Due to your Native American status i would think that you have a solid chance at Dartmouth! The only weakness is your GPA, but your other activities and personally qualities might make up for that.

Do you have awards/specialties in your 10 clubs/organizations other than your varsity letters? Colleges prefer to see one or two clubs that you have invested your time in thoroughly rather than 10+ where you just participate weekly in.

Do you participate in any of your tribal community activities? This would be huge. It’s one thing to be Native American on a roll, but it’s another to actually affiliate with the tribe. So far, culturally, it doesn’t sound like you have any ties to your tribe.

@"aunt bea"‌ Yes, I do participate in my culture. I grew up on my reservation for four years and am an active member. I am currently taking two classes in Navajo Government and Navajo Language. My common app essay is actually on the coming-of-age ceremony I experiences. Hozhoogo nashaa’

@OspreyCV22 and @xoxo14 thank you so much for answering and your words! Many of my peers are discouraging me from apply Ivy League because of my terrible GPA, but thanks to your words I still have hope. Thank you, I’m really hoping to get accepted.

@redwall1521 I am co-president of one of the clubs and an officer in one of the honor societies. Other than that it’s just active member.

Please let us know when the acceptances are in!

@elemenop117‌, make sure to emphasize the tribal connections and the Navajo language and I’d say your chances are great wherever you apply. When you see a place on any scholarship that says “other languages spoken” put in “learning Navajo”. Keep the tribal connections going!

As a Native American, you are already at an enormous advantage over other applicants. I think if you had some Sat II’s in biology and chemistry, you would definitely get into the majority of the highly selective universities that you’re applying to. From what I’ve heard, the biology Sat II is very easy, the chem not so much. Like someone said in an earlier post, it’s important to stress your Native American culture. Good luck!

@elemenop117‌ I’m not just talking about leadership. Honors, awards also help. Any of those?
